Graphic Designer

OlssønBarbieri is a design studio specialising in brand identity and packaging design. We work within the fields of food, drinks, beauty and hospitality, with clients from both Norway and abroad. We operate in highly competitive and commercial segments, and value a conceptual and research-based approach to design and focus on innovation. 

We are a small studio with big ambitions and are carefully growing our team. We believe this is an exciting time to be designers, because we are all required to re-imagine the way we are understanding and living in this world. This in our opinion gives us the opportunity to empower progressive and visionary start-ups and commercial brands to redefine and explore the future of food and products. 

The role 

• You will be responsible for the design and delivery of a broad range of projects under the mentorship of our senior creative team.
• You will also be working directly with clients in order to understand and develop creative strategy and applications.
• You will lead and manage your own projects as well as jumping on to others when needed.

Requirements

• A portfolio that demonstrates working with brand identities across a range of media and applications, preferably with some practice in packaging design 
• Experience working from concept through to delivery
• Proficiency in Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, Figma / XD is a plus
• Some years of experience, but we are open to consider anyone with an interesting profile
  
• Fluent in English (Norwegian/Scandinavian language is a plus)

• A conceptual thinker with the ability to articulate your ideas to the team and our clients
• Someone who has a great attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills

As a team, we collaborate closely on every project, but you should be comfortable running a process independently. A strategic approach in creating branding and design systems and know-how in high-end print and production techniques is appreciated.

You should be passionate about design, art and culture, and thrive collaborating with illustrators, photographers, typographers etc. Ideally, you should have some experience with packaging design or a very keen interest in developing your skills and delivering a high standard within this field. An interest in good food and drinks and how they are produced, is also a plus. 

Office life and benefits
We have backgrounds from different nationalities and speak English every day in the studio. Since many of our clients are international, we value if you have experience from abroad. We take turns cooking a nice lunch from scratch every day. The lunch and lunch break is paid for by OB, as well as travel insurance and your phone bill. Our studio is located centrally in Oslo, in a neoclassical building. We have an office cat called Marcello:)
